Typetrigger Quarterly Grants

Now Accepting Applications for June 2011

Typetrigger is excited to announce a new quarterly grant program open to all Typetrigger members. Every quarter we will award a $500 cash grant to a member whose work inspires and delights us. The recipient of the award will be decided by a panel of writers and other creatives.

How to Apply:

1. Send an application email between March 1 and May 1, 2011 to be considered for the award that will be announced in June. There is no cost to apply at this time.

2. In your email please include the following:

Name (username and real names, please)

Contact information (email, phone, mailing address)

3. Write! In order to qualify for the grant, we want you to participate in the Typetrigger community. For us this means writing regularly over time. We would like to see a minimum of 24 pieces written between March 1st and June 1st. This is roughly 2 trigger responses per week. We will not check the calendar exactly, but we do want participants to write over time, not just responding to every trigger for a week at the deadline time. If you don't discover Typetrigger until closer to the May deadline, do your best. Since this is the first grant, we will be looking to see how our members make this process work. Remember, if you miss this go-round, you can still apply for the Fall 2011 grant!

NOTE: If you were an active Typetrigger writer before this quarter, up to six of your previous writings will count toward your total qualifying writings. This means you must still write 18 pieces between March 1st and June 1st, 2011.

The Details

What are we looking for? Anything and everything. This grant is open to writers of all genres, as well as those that jump genres. Typetrigger is a perfect place for experimentation, and we encourage you to make the most of it. We will not be looking at word count, popularity (number of likes), or length of Typetrigger membership when we evaluate the writing, as long as the basic requirements are met.

We will be promoting our winners throughout the year, so in addition to the cash prize, the Typetrigger Grant is a chance to be highlighted within our community.

If you win the grant, you will not be eligible to enter again for 24 months. However, if you enter and do not recieve the award, you may reapply for the next award.
